Keep the bottle count honest from phone or desktop

See how many bottles remain and exactly where they are stored, then update the record as soon as a wine is opened, moved or given away.

Most inventory errors begin with a small update left until later. SmartCellar makes that correction easy to do beside the rack, where the change has just happened.

One cellar and up to 50 bottles, free. No card required.

Make the useful facts easy to reach

Record the wine, vintage, quantity and place first. Price, merchant and private notes are there when they matter, without standing between you and a quick update.

  • Keep the current bottle count beside each wine and vintage.
  • Use locations for racks, fridges, shelves, cases and bonded storage.
  • Filter by region, readiness, colour, value or tasting history.

Update the count when the cork is pulled

Reduce the quantity while the bottle is in hand, then add a tasting note if the wine taught you something worth remembering for the remaining bottles.

Keep simple records simple

Manual entry is perfectly good for a familiar bottle. Use a label scan, bottle profile or Cella only when the extra detail will be useful.

After a bottle moves or opens

The easiest time to keep an inventory right is immediately after something changes.

  1. 1. Open the wine record

Find the bottle from the phone while you are still beside the cellar.

  2. 2. Change the quantity

Reduce the count for an opened, gifted or sold bottle.

  3. 3. Change the location if needed

Record the new rack or case when the remaining bottles have moved.

  4. 4. Add a short note

If you tasted the wine, leave enough detail to guide the next opening.

Common questions

What is the difference between a wine inventory app and a collection app?

An inventory app puts the count and location first. A collection app usually gives more prominence to wishlists, tasting history and the story around each bottle. SmartCellar covers both.

Can SmartCellar track bottle quantities?

Yes. Quantities and storage locations can be updated as bottles are opened, moved, gifted or replaced.

Do I need to enter every field?

No. Start with the wine, vintage, quantity and location. Add a drinking window, profile or tasting note when it earns its place.
