Use the cellar and location together
The cellar is the broad storage place; the location tells you exactly where to reach for the bottle within it.
Keep locations short and consistent: Rack A3, Fridge top shelf, Case 2 or Under stairs, left side.

A cellar record is only as good as its bottle count. Update the quantity whenever a bottle is opened, given away, sold or replaced, and update the location when it is moved.
A simple pattern used every time is better than elaborate detail used now and then. Choose names that follow the way you physically search the cellar.
