Read the wine’s dates
Open a wine from your cellar. The wine profile shows Drinking window when dates are available, together with a status and a Provided window or Estimated window label where recorded. The cellar details can also display a Cellar drinking window.
These are estimates for choosing wine, not expiry dates or a guarantee of condition. An absent window means guidance has not been recorded; it does not mean the wine is too young.
Find bottles to consider now
- Open the cellar’s Collection and choose Filters.
- Under Drinking window, select Ready to drink and At peak, then choose Apply filters.
- Open a result and check its vintage, dates, quantity, location and your previous tasting notes.
- After opening a bottle, use Record opened bottle to keep the remaining stock accurate.
Save your preferred drinking year
- Open the wine and choose Edit details.
- Enter Preferred drinking year, such as 2028, for the year you personally intend to open it.
- Use Notes to record the reason or source, such as “Tasted September 2026; leave the next bottle another two years.”
- Choose Save changes, then check Preferred drinking year in the cellar details.
Set a personal range when adding a bottle on mobile
After a label scan, the Add to your cellar or Cellar placement section includes Cellar drink from and Cellar drink until. Enter years for your own bottles; the end year must be the same as or later than the start year. Add the source or reason in Personal notes, choose Destination cellar and save with Add to cellar.
Optimal year is a separate single year. These fields are part of adding bottles: do not scan and add wine you already own just to change its dates, because that increases stock.
A preferred year is different from a date range
The website’s Edit details form lets you set a preferred year. It does not currently provide start and end fields for changing a personal drinking-window range, even though a previously recorded Cellar drinking window may be displayed. Do not expect changing your preferred year to rewrite the catalogue’s dates.
To receive reminders, open Settings → Notifications, choose the drinking-window notifications and available delivery channels you want, then choose Save notifications.
