Keep the wines you own and the ones you hope to find

Bottle count matters, but so do the buying story, cellar position and tasting history. SmartCellar keeps them together, so each wine remains worth remembering.

Wine arrives by many routes: a trusted merchant, a restaurant discovery, a gift or a holiday find. Keeping those beginnings makes the collection more personal and more useful.

Remember why you bought it

Keep the merchant, price, occasion and private note with the bottle. Years later, those details are often as helpful as the producer and vintage.

  • Add the wine by hand or begin with a photograph of the label.
  • Keep photographs and tasting notes with its history.
  • Move a wishlist wine into the cellar without losing the original note.

Find a bottle by more than its name

Search by cellar, readiness, colour, region, quantity, value or tasting history. That helps when the question is not “Where is this wine?” but “What would be good with supper?”

Look after a collection together

A partner, relative or trusted friend can view the cellar or help maintain it through their own account. You choose who can make changes.

Keep your own palate on record

Save the occasion, rating, photograph and a few honest words after opening. Over time, your own tasting history is a much better buying guide than a collection of critics’ scores.

Private unless you say otherwise

Your collection and notes are private by default. You may share a chosen cellar, bottle or tasting note, but SmartCellar is not built around performing for a public review feed.

From the wishlist to the last bottle

Keep the thread of a wine from the first recommendation to the last bottle in the case.

  1. 1. Save the idea

Add a wine from a merchant offer, restaurant list or recommendation to the wishlist.

  2. 2. Record the purchase

Move it into the cellar with the price, merchant, quantity and storage place.

  3. 3. Watch it develop

Keep its drinking window and bottle count in view while it rests.

  4. 4. Remember the tasting

Add your note after opening and decide whether the wine deserves another place in the cellar.

Common questions

What makes SmartCellar a wine collection app?

It keeps the bottles you own, the wines you are considering and the notes you make after drinking them. Quantity and location remain important, but they are not the whole story.

Can I keep my collection private?

Yes. The collection is private by default. Sharing only happens when you invite someone to a cellar or create a public link for a particular bottle or note.

Can I use SmartCellar on mobile?

Yes. SmartCellar is available on the App Store for iPhone and through a web browser, with the same collection in both.
